It aligns with Ethiopia\u2019s national economic reforms, industrialization agenda, and long-term aviation strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/01\/613548926_1493195948829847_2357776547097930797_n-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/01\/613548926_1493195948829847_2357776547097930797_n-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/01\/613548926_1493195948829847_2357776547097930797_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/01\/613548926_1493195948829847_2357776547097930797_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/01\/613548926_1493195948829847_2357776547097930797_n.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will strengthen Ethiopian Airlines\u2019 global competitiveness, enhance Africa\u2019s connectivity under the AfCFTA framework, expand trade and tourism corridors, and position Ethiopia as a premier intercontinental hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located about 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa at an altitude of 1,910 meters, Bishoftu offers optimal conditions for aircraft performance and efficient handling of both origin-destination and transit passengers.
