Addis Ababa has finalized comprehensive preparations to host delegates attending the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly of Heads of State and Government, set to take place at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A joint security task force comprising the Ethiopian Federal Police, the National Intelligence and Security Service, and the Addis Ababa Police Commission has been established to ensure comprehensive security and seamless coordination throughout the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security operations will be reinforced by modern CCTV surveillance systems and body-worn cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have also advised international hotels operating in the city not to impose unjustified price increases on guests arriving for the summit, underscoring the city\u2019s commitment to fair and hospitable service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the official sessions, special arrangements have been put in place to allow visiting delegates to experience some of the city\u2019s landmark attractions, including the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, the Science Museum, Friendship Park, and Entoto Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the summit program, the Meeting of African Union Foreign Ministers will be held from February 10\u201311, 2026, followed by the 39th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government from February 14\u201315, 2026, both at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the African Union, the session will be convened under the theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAssuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addis Ababa once again reaffirms its standing as Africa\u2019s diplomatic capital, as residents are called upon to proudly showcase Ethiopia\u2019s long-standing tradition of warm hospitality and its deeply rooted culture of welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
