The ongoing corridor development project in Addis Ababa is significantly transforming the city\u2019s landscape while easing long-standing traffic congestion, residents say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to city residents who spoke to AMN, the changes witnessed, particularly in the Shiro Meda and Arat Kilo areas, have elevated the capital\u2019s transportation infrastructure to a new level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Residents recalled that in the past, narrow roads and traffic congestion caused daily inconvenience. Today, however, standard and expanded road networks constructed under the corridor development initiative are improving mobility across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In particular, the newly built Arat Kilo Road, featuring three lanes in each direction, totaling six lanes, has significantly improved traffic flow and modernized the city\u2019s transportation system. Beyond vehicle movement, residents noted major improvements for pedestrians. Previously, many roads lacked walkways, forcing pedestrians to share space with vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The construction of wide, standard pedestrian pathways has now provided safer and more convenient movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They emphasized that the progress observed in Shiro Meda area reflects strong cooperation between the government and the residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They acknowledged that public support and patience throughout the construction process have played a vital role in the project\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, the corridor development is effectively achieving its goal of making Addis Ababa more accessible and convenient for its residents, while enhancing the city\u2019s attractiveness to visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
