A statement released this afternoon by the Mayor office of Addis Ababa highlights the significant progress the capital has been making in recent years. Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia and a diplomatic hub of Africa, is a city where diverse identities, languages, religions, and cultures coexist. Addis Ababa also serves as the seat of numerous embassies and international institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city\u2019s multinational unity, along with its role as a center of ideas and creativity, has become the foundation for its rapid development and sustained peace. Grounded in diversity and guided by values of solidarity and brotherhood, Addis Ababa has emerged as a symbol of growth and transformation across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, it has become an example not only within Ethiopia but also for many African and global cities. Notable progress in science and technology, finance, tourism, sports, arts, and creative industries reflects the city\u2019s ongoing development and its strengthening international standing. In addition to leveraging its rich historical and cultural heritage for tourism, Addis Ababa is laying a strong foundation for future generations to understand and appreciate their history, embrace unity in diversity, and cultivate a strong sense of patriotism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capital is also evolving into a smart city, adopting innovative approaches not only in urban planning and infrastructure but across all sectors. The city has gone beyond reforming public service delivery by minimizing human contact to reduce corruption and malpractice. It has also introduced doorstep services through initiatives such as the \u201cMesob\u201d mobile service buses. Residents are increasingly playing an active role in the city\u2019s development by embracing diversity and modern urban values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
