Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie has extended her congratulations on the occasion of the 85th Patriots\u2019 Victory Day, underscoring the enduring legacy of Ethiopia\u2019s heroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a message shared on her official social media page, the Mayor noted that the day was commemorated with great honor and vibrancy at Arat Kilo Plaza\u2014a landmark revitalized through corridor development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration was held in the presence of President of the FDRE, Taye Atske Selassie, Vice Admiral Kindu Gezu, President of the Association of Ethiopian Patriots Lij Daniel Jote Mesfin, and the nation\u2019s revered patriots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur fathers and mothers, without hesitation, sacrificed their lives and gave of themselves so that today our sovereign nation, Ethiopia, stands proud among free peoples,\u201d Mayor Adanech emphasized, paying tribute to the immeasurable sacrifices of past generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She reaffirmed that this enduring truth, and the irreplaceable sacrifices etched into Ethiopia\u2019s history, will never fade from the memory of future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the 85th Patriots\u2019 Victory Day commemoration, the Mayor highlighted the responsibility of today\u2019s generation. Beyond honoring and preserving the legacy of their forebears, she stressed the need to forge a renewed and forward-looking sense of patriotism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing a powerful contrast between past and present, she noted that while yesterday\u2019s patriotism was defined by the defense of the nation against foreign invasion, today\u2019s call of duty lies in liberating the country from poverty, backwardness, and dependency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust as our heroic forefathers triumphed over both external aggressors and internal traitors to safeguard the nation, we too must rise, with unity, vigilance, and hard work, to overcome those who seek to hinder our path toward development and peace,\u201d the Mayor urged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
