The corridor and riverside development projects underway in Addis Ababa are not only transforming the city\u2019s appearance, but are also fundamentally changing the mindset, health, and daily lifestyles of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These development projects, which are being implemented with special attention by the city administration, are not only making the city more convenient for residents, but are also elevating the centuries-old urban lifestyle to a new level, Addis Ababa Riverside Development Technical Advisor Walelign Dasalegn told AMN Digital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, the corridor development projects have not only introduced a new lifestyle, but have also greatly strengthened social interaction among the communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of resident-friendly infrastructure has brought the culture of entertainment, which was previously confined to homes, into open public spaces. Wide pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, sports facilities, children\u2019s playgrounds, and roadside rest areas are among the major facilities constructed, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advisor pointed out that these developments have created a conducive environment for communities to meet, interact, and strengthen social ties. In addition, he noted that the night markets launched across the city have revitalized the urban atmosphere and added momentum to economic activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further stated that these massive development projects, which are being carried out seven days a week and 24 hours a day, have instilled psychological confidence among residents that \u201cnothing is impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Walelign, the projects have not only changed the mindset of citizens and strengthened their sense of ownership, but have also raised awareness that maintaining environmental cleanliness and beauty is a shared responsibility that requires the participation of all citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion of green spaces and the cleaning of riversides have not only provided residents with cleaner air, but have also inspired people to engage in physical exercise without additional costs. Walelign noted that this new development trend has created significant potential for young people reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In general, the development of Addis Ababa\u2019s corridors and riverside projects not only made the city a better place to live, but also contributed significantly to improving the overall safety and well-being of residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
