As Ethiopia prepares to hold its 7th General Election tomorrow, residents of Addis Ababa say they are ready to cast their votes, describing participation in the election as both a constitutional and democratic right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 54,057,861 registered voters are expected to take part in the 7th general election on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to AMN, Addis Ababa residents said they have completed all necessary preparations and plan to arrive at polling stations early to exercise their right to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our vote is valuable, and we are ready to actively participate in the election and vote for the political party of our choice using the voter cards we have received,” residents said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They emphasized that voting is a constitutional right and an important democratic responsibility exercised once every five years. The residents also confirmed that they would use their voter cards to cast their ballots on election day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city residents expressed enthusiasm about participating in the electoral process, noting that elections are among the most important mechanisms for strengthening democracy and ensuring public participation in governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents stated that they intend to vote for political parties they believe will best serve the interests of the country and its people. They also encouraged fellow citizens who have received voter cards to take part in the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the National Election Board of Ethiopia has been distributing election materials to polling stations across Addis Ababa to facilitate a smooth voting process. The materials include ballot papers, voter registers, ballot boxes, and other essential election forms. Distribution is being carried out securely and carefully with the support of security personnel to ensure all polling stations receive the necessary supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to election officials, 54,057,861 citizens are expected to participate in the 7th General Election. The process will be observed by 55 local and two international observer organizations. More than 52,000 polling stations and 359,000 election officials have been deployed to support the election nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, observer missions from the African Union and IGAD have arrived in Addis Ababa. The African Union mission consists of 59 members, while IGAD has deployed 26 observers. The election is also expected to receive extensive media coverage from 56 local and 12 international media organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
