The company assessed the climate resilience of 72 major cities around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/09\/1000051788-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4895\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/09\/1000051788-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/09\/1000051788-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/09\/1000051788-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.amn.gov.et\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/09\/1000051788.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against this backdrop, Addis Ababa emerged as Africa\u2019s top-performing city and secured the second position globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mayor Adanech said: &#8220;in line with the promise we made to make Addis Ababa, true to its name, a beautiful, clean and livable city, our capital is becoming a symbol of rapid urban development and a source of pride for Africa.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mayor also extended her congratulations to all residents of Addis Ababa, as well as everyone who has worked together and contributed to the city\u2019s development and its growing international recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Leta Teresa<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMN PLUS-September 8,2026 Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie has congratulated residents of the capital after the city was ranked the second-most climate-resilient city in the world.
