The resident noted that the situation has significantly improved since the corridor development began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minibus driver Bitew Solomon recalled that the absence of proper parking previously forced drivers to park on pedestrian walkways and roadsides, worsening congestion. She explained that vehicle owners now park with confidence, knowing their cars are secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traffic expert Inspector Gashahunegn Mulugeta emphasized that reduced congestion has enabled ambulances and emergency vehicles to move faster, while also easing the workload of traffic police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Elias Zerga, Deputy Director General of the Addis Ababa City Traffic Management Authority, revealed that the city has built parking infrastructure capable of accommodating over 70,000 vehicles at a time under the corridor development project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deputy director added that the initiative has eliminated disruptions caused by roadside parking near intersections and traffic lights, significantly improving the city\u2019s overall traffic flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By Birhanu Workneh<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMN Plus -December 29\/2025 The corridor development currently underway in Addis Ababa is playing a vital role in easing traffic congestion and enhancing vehicle safety across the city.
