In a message shared on her official social media page, the Mayor stated that the city’s meal-sharing program is being implemented across all sub-cities and districts to support residents living in low-income conditions, vulnerable groups, persons with disabilities, and those without families.

During this Ramadan season, the city administration has also made special arrangements for approximately 27,000 residents by organizing an iftar program throughout the entire month at all 28 feeding centers in Addis Ababa, ensuring that they can observe the month with ease.

“Our meal-sharing initiative is not only designed to alleviate temporary hardship but also to demonstrate the respect we have for our people,” the Mayor said.

The Mayor added that the program also aims to strengthen the values of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual support among the community.

The Mayor extended her heartfelt appreciation, on behalf of the beneficiaries, to the youth of the city for their active role in coordinating the meal-sharing efforts and supporting the vulnerable, as well as to the business community and residents who generously shared what they had to help those in need.

The Mayor, in particular, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to Jemal Ahmed, CEO of Midroc Investment Group, and to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates for their valuable support in making today’s meal-sharing program at the Mayor’s Office possible.
