Mayor of Addis Ababa City Adanech Abiebie in a message shared on her official social media platform this afternoon announced that she had visited the ASAN-Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network.
β€œOn the sidelines of our participation in the World Cities Forum, we visited the ASAN – Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network in Azerbaijan,” she said.

She noted that although significant progress has been made in the field of digital one-stop services in Ethiopia, we discussed issues that can be valuable lessons to learn.

Established 14 years ago, ASAN currently handles more than 40,000 applications per day and delivers organized, fast, and accessible services, including through mobile service centers operating in rural areas via specially equipped buses.

She also highlighted Ethiopia’s own achievements in this sector, stating that more than 41 digital one-stop service centers have already been built and launched across the country, including six centers and one mobile service bus in Addis Ababa.

During the visit, special attention was given to ASAN’s strong culture of customer service.

She observed that employees’ politeness and welcoming attitude are treated as key performance indicators.

Surveillance systems help monitor service quality, while employees with high customer satisfaction ratings receive bonuses in addition to their salaries. Those who fail to meet the required standards are held accountable immediately.

She further expressed admiration for the many young volunteers serving with dedication, respect, and optimism for the future.
β€œWe believe that our bureaucracy will be completely transformed through the efforts we have initiated,” she said. β€œWe will work hard to make it happen.”
