Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mesob Service, Yonase Alemayehu, said Ethiopia’s experience in integrated government service delivery could provide valuable lessons for other African countries.
Ambassadors from various countries recently visited the headquarters of the Federal Mesob Service to observe its integrated approach to delivering government services.
Briefing the visiting diplomats, CEO Yonase said Ethiopia’s experience could help other African countries develop technology-supported systems that make government services more accessible, efficient, and convenient for citizens.
He noted that the fragmented delivery of government services across different institutions has long been a major challenge, often requiring citizens to visit multiple offices to access the services they need. To address this challenge, Mesob has brought various government institutions and services together under a single center while expanding its one-stop service delivery model, he explained.

According to Yonase, Mesob has evolved beyond its initial one-stop service centers to include mobile and door-to-door services, as well as digital platforms. In particular, the “Unified Mesob” online platform enables citizens to access a range of government services conveniently through their mobile phones.
He further said efforts are underway to share and expand Mesob’s digital service delivery experience beyond Ethiopia. The institution envisions establishing an interconnected continental digital system by developing partnerships on digital government services with Djibouti, South Sudan, Kenya, and other African countries.
Mesob is also working to position itself as a platform for sharing Ethiopia’s experience in integrated and digital government service delivery with countries across Africa, he added.
