Addis Ababa City Administration has launched discussions on its five-year strategic plan and the 2019 budget-year plan, with the participation of city leaders.
In a message shared on her official social media page Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie said the plans are designed to build on the responsibilities entrusted to the administration by the public during the sixth national election.

She said the administration has worked to turn its commitments into tangible results over the past five years, with a focus on improving the lives of residents and strengthening Addis Ababa’s competitiveness.

According to the Mayor, the city’s residents have renewed their confidence in the administration by entrusting it with another term of responsibility.
“The current planning process is based on the trust and responsibility given to us by the people,” Mayor Adanech said, adding that the discussions will focus on developing clear and detailed targets for both the coming five years and the 2019 budget year.

She emphasized that the city administration is committed to building on its achievements and doubling its performance over the next five years.

The Mayor also highlighted the importance of strengthening the administration’s culture of 24/7 implementation, saying city leaders must take the lead, work with greater commitment, mobilize residents and development partners, and expand successful experiences.

She said the administration will work to position Addis Ababa as a leading symbol of prosperity and development as Ethiopia advances its national renaissance over the coming five years.

The forum will also review the implementation of the 60-day activities carried out so far under the administration’s 90-day summer work plan.
