Chaffe Oromia, has re-appointed Shimelis Abdisa as President of the Oromia Regional State.
The Regional Legislative body made the decision during its first regular session of the first year of its seventh term, which is currently being held in Adama. Members of the regional council unanimously endorsed his reappointment.
Shimelis Abdisa has served as president of the regional state for the past seven years. Following the endorsement of his reappointment, he was sworn in for another term in office.
In his inaugural speech, President Shimelis reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering on the promises it has made to the people, with greater effectiveness and determination than ever before.
He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a strong, prosperous, united, and sustainable Oromia.
“We made a commitment to work with dedication to ensure that truth, justice, and the interests of our people are upheld,” the president said.
