Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Zeleke Temesgen(PhD), held discussions with Yusif Abdullayev, Head of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), on the sidelines of the high-level “Invest in Ethiopia 2026” business forum. The talks focused on potential areas where Azerbaijani investors can engage in Ethiopia’s wide-ranging investment opportunities.
The discussion primarily emphasized ways to translate into concrete action the Memorandum of Understanding on investment, trade, and economic cooperation signed between the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed(PhD), and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Both sides also agreed to work jointly to facilitate the entry of Azerbaijani investors into Ethiopia across various sectors of the economy.
To further strengthen this cooperation, a high-level Azerbaijani delegation led by the Minister of Economy is expected to pay an official working visit to Ethiopia at the end of April and early May. This visit is anticipated to play a significant role in enabling Azerbaijani companies to tap into Ethiopia’s favorable investment climate as to Ethiopian investment commission reported it.
