In a message shared on his official social media page, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh said that Eid al-Fitr is a joyous and meaningful occasion, a day when the light of happiness shines through unity, and life is enriched with kindness and goodwill.
“During the holy month of Ramadan, fasting has inspired us to reflect beyond our individual beliefs; prayer has drawn us closer together; and iftar, which gathers us around a shared table, has strengthened our bonds and exemplified the Ethiopian spirit of togetherness in practice,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the values embodied in Eid al-Fitr benefit all humanity and are equally vital for nation-building. “The unity, compassion, and mutual care nurtured during this sacred fasting season should be sustained and carried forward,” Temesgen stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister further noted, “For Ethiopia, a nation rich in diversity, tolerance and the ability to cherish the beauty within our differences are precious virtues.” He underscored that showcasing this harmony before the world as a source of pride helps foster a brighter and more hopeful future for Ethiopia.
The Deputy Prime Minister called on all citizens to ensure that Ethiopia’s development journey remains sustainable and that every citizen benefits fairly from the country’s progress.
