Jemal Beker Abdula(PhD), Ethiopia’s ambassador to the UAE, held high-level talks with Jammal Mohammed Al Kaabi(PhD) Director General of the UAE National Media Office, on the sidelines of the Bridge Summit in Abu Dhabi.
The two leaders explored innovative pathways to cement the already excellent bilateral relations through strategic media cooperation and strengthened people-to-people connections. Recognising the transformative power of storytelling in shaping global perceptions, they committed to positioning Ethiopia and the UAE as leading voices of their respective regions.
Jammal Al Kaabi praised Ethiopia as a natural strategic partner for the UAE and expressed the commitment on his side for intiateives such as joint content creation, journalist exchange programmes, co-production of documentaries showcasing Ethiopia’s and the UAE’s aspiration of prosperous and and peaceful globe in shaping tomorrow’s narrative.
Ambassador Jemal Beker(PhD), for his part, hailed the UAE’s world-class media ecosystem and expressed Ethiopia’s eagerness to harness this expertise to showcase its booming investment climate, cultural richness, and leadership in green development to global audiences.
Both sides agreed to immediately establish a Joint Media Coordination Team that will fast-track flagship initiatives, including Mutual broadcasting partnerships with Ethiopian Media’s, and Training programmes for Ethiopian journalists in the UAE’s state-of-the-art media complexes.
Following the bilateral meeting, Jemal Beker, toured the massive Bridge Summit exhibition halls, engaging directly with global media CEOs, digital platform owners, and influential personalities. Among the high-profile encounters was a warm exchange with football legend and FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger.
This dynamic diplomatic engagement at the Bridge Summit underscores Ethiopia’s momentum as a magnet for partnership, investment and global attention, while cementing the UAE as one of Ethiopia’s most strategic in the Middle East.
