Addressing a joint session of Ethiopia’s House of People’s Representatives and the House of Federation this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the 21st century belongs to Global South cooperation, emphasizing solidarity and shared progress among developing nations.
Prime Minister Modi affirmed that India is working closely with partners to address global challenges, including climate change and food security, noting Ethiopia’s importance in these efforts.

Modi described Africa as a continent of immense potential and promise, highlighting Ethiopia’s vital role in shaping the continent’s future as the seat of the African Union.
Reaffirming India’s commitment to Africa, PM Modi said India remains dedicated to building a strong and vibrant partnership with the continent.
The Prime Minister Modi stressed that India will continue to support Africa’s aspirations and amplify its voice on the global stage.
Concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi likened India’s friendship with Ethiopia to the Nile eternal and life giving, calling on both nations to work together to reach new heights of cooperation and friendship.
