The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced that more than 18.5 million voters have been registered for the country’s 7th General Election through both manual and digital voter registration systems.
According to the Board, the voter registration process is underway from March 8, 2026, to April 6, 2026. Between March 8 and March 19, 2026, a total of 18,556,337 voters were registered through the two registration modalities. Of the total registered voters,10,133,639 are men, while 8,422,698 are women.
NEBE also stated that it has deployed more than 187 thousand election officials to support the voter registration process after recruiting them through a competitive process and verifying their political neutrality in consultation with contesting political parties.
