Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PhD) said Ethiopia has been losing its fertile soil due to a weak environmental protection system, warning that once lost, such soil is extremely difficult to restore.
In a message shared on his official social media platforms, the Prime Minister noted that Ethiopia’s environmental protection efforts are now showing encouraging results. He explained that initiatives launched through strong cooperation between the government and the people have already begun ahead of the rainy season.

Calling for nationwide participation, Abiy Ahmed urged Ethiopians to take collective responsibility for protecting and developing the country’s natural resources.
“Let the conservation and development of our natural resources be our shared duty,” the Prime Minister said. “Let us rise up, let our hands touch the soil, and let us build our country.”
