Ethiopia’s Minister of Culture and Sports, Shewit Shanka, visited the newly renovated Gondar Castle ahead of the country’s vibrant Epiphany (Timket) festival.
She highlighted the government’s efforts to harness Ethiopia’s cultural and historical potential, especially in iconic cities like Gondar.
During the visit, religious leaders, community figures, and artists praised the restoration work, noting that it enhances the city’s long-recognized cultural, historical, and ethnographic heritage.
As Gondar enters its peak season of celebrations, the renowned art troupe “Kin Ethiopia” is set to present the “Ethiopia Rising” initiative, a national cultural program showcasing Ethiopia’s rich traditions in music, dance, and coffee.
Kin Ethiopia has previously performed on the international stage, including in China and Russia, promoting tourism, investment, and people-to-people connections.
