Addis Ababa is preparing to celebrate Timket (Epiphany) at Janmeda, one of the city’s main ceremonial grounds.
The festival, which commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ, will feature traditional religious rituals, cultural festivities, and gatherings of thousands of religious followers and visitors.
The celebration also aims to highlight the city’s cultural heritage while providing an opportunity for communities to come together in faith and unity.
International Hotels and local services are also prepared to accommodate both domestic and international visitors attending the festival.
During Timket Celebrations, participants will witness religious processions, traditional rituals, and communal gatherings, reflecting the country’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Janmeda, known for hosting large-scale public events, is expected to welcome thousands of attendees who will join in the colorful processions, religious ceremonies, and communal festivities that make Timket one of Ethiopia’s most cherished festivals in Africa and the world at large.
