In a message shared on her official social media page, Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced that the city successfully hosted the 5km Zayed Charity Run at Meskel Square this morning.
The Mayor noted that the competition, which covered a five-kilometer distance, attracted a diverse range of participants, including runners from various segments of society, prominent athletes, influencers, children, and foreign nationals.
“This major international race, which has previously been held in cities across the United States, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, India, China, and Cairo, is being hosted by Ethiopia for the first time,” the Mayor stated.
She also expressed her appreciation for selecting Addis Ababa as the host city for the Zayed Charity Run.
Mayor Adanech further reaffirmed that Addis Ababa continues to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for continental and international events and competitions.
