Minister of Tourism Selamawit Kassa stated that Ethiopia’s renewed national image and emerging tourism destinations are attracting a growing number of internationally renowned figures to visit the country.
The minister made the remarks while receiving former Arsenal and Manchester City football star Bacary Sagna at her office.
During the meeting, Minister Selamawit briefed Sagna and his delegation on Ethiopia’s tourism brand, “Land of Origins,” and highlighted the country’s rich historical, cultural, and natural attractions.
Bacary Sagna noted that he visited several key sites in Addis Ababa, including the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum and Unity Park.
Bacary Sagna also expressed his appreciation for his stay in Bishoftu, where he was impressed by the scenic landscapes and high-quality resorts, and praised the warmth and hospitality of the Ethiopian people.
The former football star further revealed plans to visit additional tourist destinations across the country and expressed his willingness to help promote Ethiopia on the international stage.
For her part, Minister Selamawit emphasized that visits by globally renowned figures like Bacary Sagna play a vital role in advancing Ethiopia’s tourism sector and strengthening the country’s global image.
