The DESSU Corridor Management Authority Agreement has been officially signed by its member states.
The DESSU Corridor Management Authority Agreement, comprising Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda, has been formally signed by the participating countries.
On behalf of Ethiopia, the agreement was signed by Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Sime (PhD) during a ceremony held in Djibouti yesterday.
The agreement is expected to to play pivotal role in facilitating logistics provision, promote investment, streamline trade procedures, and eliminate unnecessary customs barriers across the region. It also aims to facilitate the smooth movement of goods and transport services among member states.
In addition, the agreement is anticipated to improve port accessibility, reduce service costs, and strengthen regional connectivity.
Launched in 2025, the DESSU Corridor is a major regional trade and transport initiative designed to enhance economic integration, improve logistics efficiency, and connect landlocked countries in East Africa to the Port of Djibouti.
