The Addis Ababa City Administration has organized an appreciation program to honor institutions and stakeholders that contributed to beautifying the capital and ensuring the successful hosting of major continental and international events.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of Addis Ababa Adanech Abiebie said the City is steadily transforming into a model city of peace, sustainable development, and urban beauty.
The Mayor noted that the Ethiopian capital is increasingly becoming a preferred destination for tourists and a host of major continental and global gatherings.
According to the Mayor, Addis Ababa is evolving into a more convenient and livable city for residents, while also creating job opportunities and new sources of income.
Mayor Adanech emphasized that the city’s growing appeal as a conference and tourism hub is delivering tangible economic benefits.
The Mayor added that Addis Ababa has, to a great extent, become a city from which others can learn, a place to visit, to experience, and to draw inspiration.
The Mayor also commended residents for their vital role in maintaining peace and stability, noting that they are cultivating new traditions of warmly welcoming and hosting guests.
In conclusion, Mayor Adanech expressed her sincere gratitude to the institutions involved in the city’s beautification efforts, security agencies that ensured the smooth conduct of international events, city leaders, and the residents of Addis Ababa for their collective commitment and contribution.
