Ambassador of Italy to Ethiopia, Sem Fabrizi, stated that Addis Ababa is undergoing a remarkable phase of infrastructure development and urban transformation that is gaining international recognition.
The ambassador made these remarks while attending the First Ethiopian–Italian Forum on Construction, Infrastructure, and Urban Redevelopment, currently underway in Addis Ababa.
In his address, Ambassador Fabrizi noted that the rapid transformation taking place in the city is positioning Addis Ababa among the leading cities in global construction metrics.

The Ambassador also recalled Italy’s historical imprint on the urban landscape of Addis Ababa, highlighting the contributions of Italian architect Arturo Mezzedimi, who designed iconic structures such as Addis Ababa City Hall and Africa Hall in the 1950s and 1960s.
According to the ambassador, these landmark buildings stand as enduring symbols of Italian creativity and their contribution to shaping Ethiopia’s modern identity. He further emphasized that Italy is now ready to embark on a new phase of development cooperation in Addis Ababa and across Ethiopia.
Ambassador Fabrizi reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to fostering new business partnerships and revitalizing the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
