Ethiopia and the United Nations: A shared history. A shared future. To live together in peace!

In honour of the United Nations’ journey of eight decades, Ethiopia has published a special commemorative stamp collection under the theme: “𝗧𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲.” The four stamps tell our shared story, from signing the UN Charter in San Francisco in 1945, to deploying peacekeepers to the Congo and hosting the first-ever UN Security Council meeting on African soil. Distributed to 192 countries through the International Postal Union, they are a lasting tribute to a legacy that belongs not to one moment, but to every generation.

We also take this occasion to extend our deep appreciation to the United Nations’ Secretary-General António Guterres and his dedicated team for their tireless leadership in advancing peace, development, and human rights during one of the most challenging periods in modern history.

The UN endures because nations keep choosing dialogue over division.

Ethiopia Always Will!
