Prosperity Party Vice President and Head of the Party’s Main Office Adam Farah held bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart, Zafar Sirakaya, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
The bilateral meeting was held on the sidelines of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) a consultation forum currently taking place in Seoul, South Korea.
The longstanding people-to-people and government-to-government relations between Ethiopia and Türkiye have created opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, and international affairs.
During the discussion, it was noted that the bilateral agreement signed in Addis Ababa last year between the Prosperity Party and the AK Party has played an important role in expanding these opportunities and sustaining party-to-party relations.
The two sides emphasized the need to translate planned activities into action, particularly by strengthening bilateral relations in various areas to expand mutual benefits, facilitating experience-sharing between the youth and women’s wings of the two parties, and continuously enhancing the capacity of party leaders through capacity-building platforms.
Speaking during the meeting, Prosperity Party Vice President Adam Farah said strengthening party-to-party relations is highly significant in consolidating relations between the two countries. He said the Prosperity Party will continue to give particular attention to this area.
He also underscored the need for sustained efforts to ensure the implementation of agreements reached between the two countries to date.
Türkiye marked the 100th anniversary in 2026 of the opening of its embassy in Addis Ababa. Adam said further strengthening relations between the two parties would lay a strong foundation for lasting friendship between the two countries in the next century, according to information obtained from the Prosperity Party.
He further affirmed that the Prosperity Party remains committed to elevating the relationship to a higher level and translating it into greater national economic, social, and diplomatic benefits.
