Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh stated that the restoration of Lake Haramaya is a living evidence that the Green Legacy Initiative is actively healing environmental damage.
In a message shared on his official social media account, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the revival of Lake Haramaya is one of the landmark fruits borne by the Green Legacy program.”Lake Haramaya, which had completely dried up and disappeared in 2004, has today been restored to its former beauty and natural state thanks to the Green Legacy Initiative and dedicated natural resource conservation efforts,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Temesgen emphasized that this significant milestone practically demonstrates how the Green Legacy Initiative serves as a crucial strategy for the development and sustainability of Ethiopia’s water bodies and watersheds.
Temesgen further pointed out that this success is a testament not only to realizing development through the concept of synergy but also to humanity’s capability to withstand and tame environmental impact.
Concluding his message, the Deputy Prime Minister extended his deep gratitude to the local community for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation during their visit to the area.
