The head of the African Union Election Observer Mission, former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, has expressed confidence that Ethiopia’s 7th General Election will be conducted successfully.
Kenyatta, who is leading the African Union observer mission, is currently visiting and inspecting election preparations at various polling stations.
Speaking during his tour, he noted that as Ethiopia serves as the diplomatic capital of Africa, the country’s success would have a positive impact on the entire continent.
Kenyatta further stated that it is his hope that the voting process will proceed smoothly and successfully, adding that he remains optimistic that the election will be conducted in an orderly and successful manner.
The remarks were made during a briefing he gave to journalists while observing the election preparations.
