State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, today delivered the opening remarks at the Hili Regional Dialogue-Africa Edition 2026 held in Addis Ababa.
The forum, organized by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) and the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), in partnership with Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), brought together policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, and researchers to advance cooperation between Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hadera highlighted Africa’s growing importance in the global economy and emphasized the value of partnerships anchored in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and long-term commitment.

He further underscored the need to expand collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, connectivity, technology, and sustainable development, noting that continued dialogue and joint initiatives would contribute to greater prosperity and resilience for both Africa and the UAE.
The State Minister also noted that Ethiopia, owing to its strategic position in the region, remains well placed to contribute to and advance this shared vision, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia
