In a message shared on her official social media page, the Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie, announced the inauguration of the 30th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center in Lemi Kura Sub-City.

She stated that this initiative goes beyond the simple provision of meals, serving instead as a meaningful effort to advance social justice while extending care, love, and dignity to residents.

According to the Mayor, the 30th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center—now the fourth branch within Lemi Kura Sub-City—provides daily meals for vulnerable residents drawn from different parts of the city, including Kirkos, the Sheraton expansion area, and Kazanchis. These beneficiaries include individuals who had been living in informal settlements without legal housing, elderly citizens who have been supported with housing, people without stable income, and others facing various social and economic challenges.

She further noted that the feeding center is also part of a broader city initiative aimed at addressing immediate humanitarian needs while simultaneously creating pathways toward sustainable employment opportunities for beneficiaries.

The Mayor emphasized that the Tesfa Birhan Feeding Centers established across Addis Ababa are practical expressions of a human-centered approach to governance—places where urgent needs are met while the city continues working toward long-term development and national prosperity.

Finally, she extended her sincere gratitude, on behalf of the beneficiary residents, the city administration, and herself, to all individuals and partners who have contributed resources, offered support, and pledged continued commitment to the success of the feeding program.
