The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission announced that efforts to reconcile the recommendations compiled by the various groups at the National Dialogue Conference are nearing completion.

Deputy Chief Commissioner of the National Dialogue Commission, Hirut Gebre-Selassie, said the process of reconciling the recommendations developed by the different groups is now close to completion.

In a briefing on the national dialogue process, Hirut explained that participants at the conference had selected 15 representatives from each group to work on reconciling the recommendations put forward by their respective groups.

She said the representatives’ primary task was to harmonize the recommendations, which had been developed by each group through extensive deliberations and discussions.

Their work is intended to ensure that the recommendations from the eight groups are presented in a coherent and unified manner, without contradictions or unnecessary duplication.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner also said that consensus had been reached on most of the issues discussed during the dialogue process.

“We believe this will bring about the understanding and peace we have been seeking,” she said.By
