Mayor Congratulates Students on Outstanding Grade 12 Exam Results

In a message shared on her official social media page, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie congratulated students who achieved outstanding results in the Grade 12 national examination.

The Mayor said the Addis Ababa City Administration ranked first nationwide, with 32.3% of its students passing the examination.

The Oromia Special Boarding School, established 12 years ago, once again recorded an exceptional 100% pass rate. Its student, Jalela Girma Kusa, achieved 591.6 points, the highest score recorded nationwide, placing him first in the country.

The city also recorded remarkable achievements across its schools. Twenty-four schools, including Empress Menen Girls’ Boarding School and Gelan Boys’ Boarding School, achieved a 100% pass rate among students who took the examination.

In the Social Sciences stream, Mekdelawit Surafel Mamo of Bole Super Holy Saviour School scored 569.1 points, recording the highest score among female students nationwide.

Mayor Adanech said the city is committed to building on these achievements and delivering even stronger results in the future. She stressed the importance of effectively implementing the city’s education strategy and strengthening collaboration among education leaders, professionals, stakeholders and parents.

She also called on parents to play a greater role in supporting students and improving educational outcomes, while urging students to remain committed to their studies, work hard and continue striving for excellence.
