A visionary young entrepreneur is on a mission to create Ethiopia’s very own Amazon, revolutionizing the e-commerce landscape and driving the country’s digital transformation.
In an exclusive interview with Addis Media Network, Izedin Kamil shared his insights on how Ethiopian youth are making global waves with their innovative work.
Izedin is already one of Ethiopia’s most prominent entrepreneurs. He is the founder and CEO of Tina Mart, an e-commerce platform designed to reshape Ethiopia’s digital marketplace. His impressive journey includes the development of 37 innovative projects, such as a solar-powered 3-wheeled vehicle and a silent mobile phone technology. Among these, 13 projects have earned global recognition, opening doors to international opportunities for Izedin.

Currently, Izedin is focusing on scaling Tina Mart, which has already created job opportunities for 20 young Ethiopians.
The platform features over 300 shops, including well-known businesses like Jafar Books, Fasil Kenema, and Saint George’s Fans, helping them reach customers online.
According to Izedin, Tina Mart now offers over 4,000 products and boasts 17,000 registered vendors, with its reach expanding globally. This rapid growth aligns perfectly with his vision of building Ethiopia’s very own Amazon, driving forward the country’s digital transformation.
Izedin stated that Ethiopia is embracing digitalization, and Tina Mart is at the forefront of this change.
He believes that his platform, combined with a $5 million training initiative for the tech sector, will ignite significant growth in Ethiopia’s digital economy.
By providing young Ethiopians with the tools to innovate, Izedin is helping pave the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
