Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie has signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) to advance sustainable urban development in the Ethiopian capital.
In a message posted on her official social media page, the Mayor stated that the agreement focuses on strengthening the Addis Urban Action Lab, preparing the city’s 11th Structural Plan, expanding access to affordable housing, and supporting preparations for COP32.
According to the Mayor, the partnership is expected to strengthen data-driven urban planning and governance, attract investment, and improve the quality of life for Addis Ababa’s residents.
