On July 6, 2026, Mayor Adanech Abiebie launched the construction of a modern police housing complex. The Addis Ababa City Administration is building twelve 15-story buildings to ease the social and economic burdens on police force members, enabling them to serve the public diligently and efficiently.

Speaking at the launch event, Mayor Adanech emphasized that the administration will continue to support the Police Commission’s ongoing efforts. This includes equipping members with advanced techniques, knowledge, and technology, alongside implementing ongoing reforms to improve their quality of life.

On July 5, 2026, the Addis Ababa City Administration inaugurated and opened the 30th Tesfa Berhan feeding Center in the Lemi Kura Sub-City. Attending the ceremony, Mayor Adanech Abiebie highlighted that the center goes beyond merely providing food; it stands as a testament to social justice, offering dignity, love, and respect to residents.

The center is designed to offer temporary relief to the vulnerable including the elderly, low-income individuals, and those facing social hardships, while also connecting them to permanent employment opportunities.
