The corridor development stretching from Urael to Bole Medhanealem and the Bole VIP Terminal in Addis Ababa is set not only to transform the city’s landscape but also to provide modern recreational and sports facilities for residents.

The project is expected to significantly address the shortage of recreational spaces in the area. Beyond road construction, the corridor development places strong emphasis on creating open and safe spaces where residents and children can move and play freely. In what has long been a busy commercial zone with no playgrounds, children now have secure and dedicated areas for recreation.

The development also features modern sports fields and outdoor exercise facilities designed to help young people and community members improve their physical fitness. In addition, the corridor includes well-designed walking and cycling lanes, encouraging a healthier lifestyle for residents. Areas that were once filled with garbage and unplanned structures have been cleared and replaced with attractive green spaces.

Previously unattractive buildings along the corridor have also been renovated, giving the area a more modern and appealing appearance.

The newly created recreational spaces offer residents opportunities to socialize and strengthen community ties.

In this highly active commercial district, the green areas also provide a peaceful environment where residents and visitors can relax. With its modern design and improved amenities, the corridor is expected to become an appealing destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Overall, the development represents a major step forward in advancing Addis Ababa’s people-centered urban development vision.
