Jordan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ethiopia, Amjad Al-Momani, who also serves as the country’s Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), visited Ethiopia’s Artificial Intelligence Institute.
The Director General of Ethiopia’s Artificial Intelligence Institute, Worku Gachena(PhD), welcomed Ambassador Al-Momani and held discussions with him during the visit.
Worku briefed the Ambassador on the activities being undertaken by the Institute to accelerate Ethiopia’s national technological development, as well as its broader technology-related initiatives.
Commenting on the visit, Ambassador Amjad Al-Momani said Ethiopia’s vision for artificial intelligence and digital transformation, as well as the progress the country is making in these areas, is encouraging.
He also commended the Institute’s work, noting that its efforts are aligned with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s vision of advancing innovation-driven development.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him and affirmed Jordan’s strong desire to further strengthen its friendship with Ethiopia and continue enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, capacity building, and experience sharing.
