Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Democracy System Building Coordination Center, and Vice President of the Prosperity Party, Adam Farah, has reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to further strengthening both government-to-government and people-to-people relations with China.
Adam Farah made the remarks today after holding talks at his office with Chen Hai, China’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ethiopia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Chen Hai delivered a congratulatory message from the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the successful conclusion of Ethiopia’s 7th General Election and the victory of the Prosperity Party.

In its message, the CPC expressed confidence that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), Ethiopia will continue to make progress in promoting lasting peace and stability, strengthening national unity, and achieving comprehensive prosperity.
The message noted that the election results reflect the Ethiopian people’s confidence in the Prosperity Party and expressed optimism that the party will continue to unite and lead the nation toward its vision of transforming Ethiopia into a model country.
The Communist Party of China also reaffirmed its commitment to implementing previously agreed areas of cooperation and to building an enduring partnership that contributes to the development and prosperity of both countries.
Speaking during the meeting, Adam Farah emphasized the Prosperity Party’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Communist Party of China while expanding bilateral relations at both the state and people-to-people levels.
He noted that both parties have achieved tangible results by pursuing homegrown development approaches tailored to their respective national contexts. Adam also expressed appreciation for China’s comprehensive support across various sectors and stressed the importance of broadening cooperation into new areas.

For his part, Ambassador Chen Hai commended the achievements Ethiopia has registered under the leadership of the Prosperity Party through the philosophy of Medemer. He also highlighted the growing presence of Chinese investors in Ethiopia, particularly in the mining, services, industrial parks, artificial intelligence, and construction sectors.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen relations between their respective parties in order to consolidate the achievements made in various sectors and expand cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, according to Ethiopian News Agency.
