Housing developments across Ethiopia continue to improve living conditions for families by expanding access to safe, durable homes that provide security, dignity, and stability. While housing demand remains high, the Government of Ethiopia is implementing a broad set of interventions that combine formal housing delivery with targeted social support.

In addition to ongoing urban and community housing programs, the annual Rainy Season Voluntary Scheme has become a key government-led initiative, mobilizing volunteers and public institutions to renovate and construct homes for elderly and impoverished citizens living in shanty towns or areas affected by flooding.
Through these coordinated efforts, thousands of vulnerable households have gained safer shelter and improved resilience, reflecting steady progress toward inclusive development and improved living standards nationwide.
