Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Zambia, Mulambo Haimbe,who is in Addis Ababa to attend the Forty-Eighth Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union and the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
During the meeting, Minister Gedion described the relationship between Ethiopia and Zambia as historic and strong, noting that the solid political ties should be translated into deeper economic cooperation.
The Minister highlighted the potential for Ethiopian businesses to supply textile and apparel products to the Zambian market.
Zambian Foreign Minister Mulambo Haimbe, for his part, emphasized the need to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
The ministers agreed to hold a joint political consultation to deepen bilateral cooperation across various fields.
