In a message shared on her official social media page, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced the inauguration and official launch of the New Leaf Medical Complex.
“Today, we inaugurated and officially launched the New Leaf Medical Complex. Congratulations to all of us!” the Mayor said.

Mayor Adanech emphasized that the city’s ambition to make Addis Ababa a leading destination for medical tourism will be achieved through both public and private investment in the health sector.
“When we say we want to make Addis Ababa a center for medical tourism, we envision achieving this not only through government investment, but also by recognizing and supporting healthcare facilities developed by the private sector,” she highlighted.

She described the newly inaugurated New Leaf Medical Complex as a prime example of such private-sector investment.

According to the Mayor, the facility is a major healthcare center equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies, including the country’s second PET-CT scanner and a cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab), following Lafto Specialized Hospital.
“Since investments in the health sector generate some of the greatest and most far-reaching returns, we will continue to strengthen our support for healthcare institutions and hospitals operating in this sector,” Mayor Adanech noted.

On behalf of herself and the Addis Ababa City Administration, the Mayor also expressed her deepest gratitude to Dr. Iman Abdulrahman, founder and manager of New Leaf Medical Complex, and her husband, Abubeker Mohammed Salah, for their contribution to advancing healthcare services in the city.
