The Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie, visited a number of manufacturing industries operating at different levels across the city this morning.
In a message shared on her official social media page, the Mayor noted that, over the past reform years, small and micro enterprises have created significant job opportunities for city residents. She added that many enterprises that began with modest means have now, within a short period, grown into full-scale industries and “are becoming fruitful.”
Mayor Adanech further highlighted that the industries visited have created job opportunities, enhanced their production processes particularly in manufacturing import-substitute products and are producing goods for export markets, demonstrating notable progress.
Following her visit to the small and micro enterprises, the Mayor reaffirmed that the city administration will continue strengthening the provision of working plots and offering holistic support to both established and newly emerging industries in Addis Ababa.
