Ethio telecom has announced that more than1.9 Trillion ETB in financial transactions were conducted through Telebirr in the past six months alone, underscoring the rapid growth of digital financial services in Ethiopia.
According to Ethio telecom Chief Executive Officer Frehiwot Tamru, since its launch, Telebirr has facilitated over 6.8 Trillion ETB in total transactions.
Ferhiwot noted that more than 1.9 Trillion ETB of this figure was processed within the last six months through the platform.
The CEO also revealed that Ethio telecom’s subscriber base has now surpassed 87 million, reflecting the company’s expanding reach across the country.
Frehiwot attributed this remarkable growth to Ethio telecom’s extensive network coverage, the modern and diversified services it provides, and its integrated operational approach, all of which continue to enhance customer access and satisfaction.
