Addis Mesob, a one-stop digital government service initiative, has announced that, beyond expanding the number of its service centers, it is working to ensure that residents of the capital have full confidence in service delivery and enjoy sustained satisfaction.
Speaking to Addis Media Network (AMN), the institution’s Director General, Engineer Dessalegn Terefe, said that there are currently 11 permanent Mesob service centers providing services across all sub-cities of Addis Ababa. He noted that the number of centers is planned to increase to 20 during the 2026/27 fiscal year.
He added that extensive efforts are also underway to increase the number of Mesob centers to as many as 66 over the next five years.
The Director General said that more than 150 government services are currently being provided digitally through the centers. He further explained that the institution is working in coordination with various government agencies to integrate additional services into the system.
Although the institution has been operational for only about a year, it has managed to expand its branches to all sub-cities and establish an efficient service delivery system.
According to the Director General, these efforts are helping to sustainably address gaps in good governance and eliminate inefficient practices that had previously been observed in the capital, enabling citizens to access transparent, modern, and faster public services.
Engineer Dessalegn further emphasized that the institution’s primary objective is not merely to increase the number of branches, but also to improve the quality of service delivery, thereby building residents’ trust and ensuring sustained satisfaction.
