Forum Participants Praise Adwa Victory Memorial as a Source of Inspiration for Africa and Beyond

Participants of the 32nd Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Forum, held successfully in Addis Ababa, visited the Adwa Victory Memorial following the conclusion of the forum.

The delegation, which included parliamentarians, heads of intelligence and security institutions, policymakers, and experts from various countries, toured the memorial and explored its rich historical collections.

During the visit, the delegates viewed historical artifacts, archival documents, photographs, and state-of-the-art digital exhibits highlighting the significance of the Victory of Adwa.

They also received a comprehensive briefing on the battle’s enduring global historical importance. The visitors described the Victory of Adwa as a powerful symbol of African unity, resilience, and the triumph of freedom over colonialism.

They noted that the Adwa Victory Memorial serves not only as a center for preserving Ethiopia’s history but also as a source of inspiration and hope for Africa and the wider international community.

The delegation also commended Ethiopia’s efforts to preserve and promote its historical heritage through the use of modern technology, praising the memorial’s contemporary design, organization, and educational value.

Furthermore, the participants remarked that Ethiopia, which successfully defended its independence and sovereignty more than 130 years ago, continues to demonstrate its commitment to national development and progress through unity, determination, and resilience.

The forum, organized by the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), featured extensive discussions on strengthening intelligence sharing, enhancing parliamentary oversight, expanding international security cooperation, and addressing emerging regional and global security challenges through collaborative approaches.
