IGAD Executive Secretary, Workneh Gebeyehu, met with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, at the AUC Headquarters in Addis Ababa.
Their discussions focused on regional peace and security, with the Executive Secretary briefing the Chairperson on his recent mission to Sudan.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen IGAD–AU joint efforts towards advancing peace and stability in Sudan, placing the interests and aspirations of the Sudanese people at the center of their engagement, according to IGAD Secretariat.
