Mayor of Addis Ababa city Adanech Abiebie, Senior government officials, Haile Gebrselassie, the founder of this great competition, and celebrity international athletes have launched the 25th Great Ethiopian Run International 10KM competition this morning in the vibrant city, Addis Ababa.
Mayor Adanech Abiebie, on her official social media page said the great Ethiopian run international 10 km has been the unique manifestation and globally recognized event of the city for the last 25 years.
The great Ethiopian run international has made Addis Ababa a training hub and home for world-class star athletes for the past 25 years.
Children and adults, professional athletes and fitness groups, celebrities, and the diplomatic communities have participated in the 25th great Ethiopian run international 10 km competition held in Addis Ababa.
The mayor stated that the great Ethiopian run has continued to entertain participants, promote the health of the people, and strengthen brotherhood, sisterhood, and togetherness among the people.
On her official social media post, the mayor has appreciated Haile Gebrselassie, the founder of this great competition, as well as the leaders, professionals, and organizers of the Great Ethiopian Run in Ethiopia.
The Mayor reaffirmed that the city administration will continue to work diligently to make this competition even more effective, notable, inclusive, and competent to other major international road races around the world.
Finally, the city mayor conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the participants of the competition, security officers, volunteers, media professionals, and other stakeholders for their valuable contributions for the successful completion of the Great Ethiopian Run in Ethiopia.
